Account Executive
Financial Public Relations - Los Angeles

Chaloner Associates is recruiting an Account Executive for a Los Angeles-based financial public relations and investor relations firm.  The agency works with organizations’ senior leadership to develop discreet, targeted communications strategies.  The firm represents clients across multiple industries, including investment banking, private equity, asset management, technology and manufacturing.  This agency provides a range of services to clients, including corporate positioning, media relations, crisis communications, investor relations, litigation support and other communications assistance to support special situations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of media relations for clients with financial journalists including proactive media outreach and pitching, arranging media tours, drafting media analysis and background material on reporters, etc.
  • Writing initial drafts of client materials including press releases, website text, marketing documents, talking points, etc.
  • Perform research on a variety of topics for our clients including: the markets, special situations, reporters and their work, etc.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or a related field preferred; an advanced degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial public relations
  • Strong working knowledge of the markets, Wall Street and asset management is highly desirable
  • Fluency with the media and journalists in the financial sector is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and writing skills

As the Marketing Manager, you will oversee all marketing and lead generation programs at TK Carsites. Your responsibility is to create and manage all marketing programs supporting our sales and business goals. This is a hands-on position with a strong focus on planning and execution, supported by industry leading marketing technology and content experts. All systems will be ready to go. What we expect from you is high energy, a sense of urgency, and drive to follow the process to meet your targets.

Your 12 month objectives include:

  • Generate and qualify 1700+ leads per month with marketing programs using the Market2Lead lead management and nurturing system
  • Provide the sales team with quality leads allowing them to close new clients existing and new product lines, supporting the planned growth for 2010
  • Nurture “Not Ready” leads until the point that they are ready to enter TK’s sales cycle
  • Increase the conversion rate from “hand-raise” to “closed deal” to exceed industry norm (2.7%)

Your responsibility is to develop opportunities for new and renewal business within the automotive industry. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Create, manage and execute all marketing programs, including but not limited to database marketing, direct marketing, social media marketing, SEO, and events.
  • Build relationships with dealer associations, dealers, vendors and affiliates throughout the industry.
  • Planning, organizing and maintain and developing promotional and sales materials and assets.
  • Maintaining and updating the TK website and social media sites.
  • Prepare marketing and advertising objectives through collaboration with the executive staff.
  • Research competitor products and services by identifying and evaluating product/service characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising methods.
  • Assist in the planning of meetings, trade shows, workshops and webinars.  Identify, assemble, and coordinate requirements; establish contacts; develop schedules and coordinate any associated activities.
  • Explore and recommend opportunities that add value to your position.
  • Support TK’s sales efforts by providing market trends and new product information/training.
  • Maintain and improve your knowledge of the industry by participating in educational opportunities and reading trade publications.
  • Prepare marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing territory data such as identifying dealership within the territory and which vendor each currently uses. 

Qualifications:

  • Possess understanding of the automotive industry
  • Possess understanding of B2B and B2C internet marketing
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Candidate must have the self-discipline to drive high volumes of programs
  • Strong commitment and ability to achieve lead targets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy; must possess good writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task; flexible and comfortable working in a fast paced environment and committed to meeting deadlines
  • SEO and/or Social Media experience consider a plus

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Marketing degree or equivalent experience

Description
As a member of our Eastern Europe Marketing Team, the individual in this position will create and execute a marketing communication strategy for our corporate and reseller Flash memory and DRAM business. Establish and manage a marketing budget for the promotion of assigned products in Russia, Ukraine and Turkey; forge and leverage strategic partnerships. Select, organize and participate in tradeshows for the exhibition of the assigned products.  Monitor development of products and communicate customer feedback with Engineering departments.  Work with Technical Resources team to train inside and field sales people on assigned products. Provide product update information to sales teams.

Requirements
Three years of marketing and sales experience.  Computer industry and channel marketing experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field preferred. Knowledge of computer industry marketing, channel distribution sales, marketing principles and practices, including knowledge of market data analysis and procedures, sales and educational incentives, advertising, trade-shows, direct mail and electronic mail marketing and promotional techniques and practices; knowledge of client and customer service principles.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to write clear business communications and creative promotions and advertising concepts; create and implement account marketing programs in accordance with corporate guidelines. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, and strong customer service orientation required. Must have ability to effectively work with co-workers, management, other department representatives, vendors, contractors, clients and international business representatives.

Must have ability to effectively organize and manage time and meet deadlines.  Ability to operate
personal computer systems to utilize word processing, spreadsheets and presentation application software programs, and Lotus Notes.  

Knowledge of Slavonic language helpful.
